High frame-rate phase camera for high-resolution wavefront sensing in gravitational-wave detectors

چکیده

We present a novel way of wavefront sensing using commercially available, continuous-wave time-of-flight camera with QVGA-resolution. This CMOS phase is capable externally modulated light sources frequencies up to 100 MHz. The high-spatial-resolution the sensor, combined our integrated control electronics, allows image power modulation index as low -62 dBc/second/pixel. applicable problems where alignment and mode-mismatch needed suited for diagnostic applications in gravitational-wave detectors. Specifically, we explore use beat signals due thermal distortions from point-like heat absorbers on test masses Advanced LIGO optical path greater than about two nanometers input mirrors, limited by resolution. In homodyne readout, performance can reach 0.1 nm, amplitude sensitivity.

Analysing high frame-rate camera tracking

High frame-rate offers benefits of robust and accurate camera tracking for rapid motion. However, the benefits are generally understated arguing that it is not possible to operate on high frame-rates due to stringent processing budgets and that even today 1060Hz is treated as a standard real-time frame-rate range. How exactly does the choice of a given frame-rate varies as computational budget ...

Stabilized High Power Laser for Advanced Gravitational Wave Detectors

Second generation gravitational wave detectors require high power lasers with several 100W of output power and with very low temporal and spatial fluctuations. In this paper we discuss possible setups to achieve high laser power and describe a 200W prestabilized laser system (PSL). The PSL noise requirements for advanced gravitational wave detectors will be discussed in general and the stabiliz...

Real-Time Camera Tracking: When is High Frame-Rate Best?

Higher frame-rates promise better tracking of rapid motion, but advanced real-time vision systems rarely exceed the standard 10– 60Hz range, arguing that the computation required would be too great. Actually, increasing frame-rate is mitigated by reduced computational cost per frame in trackers which take advantage of prediction. Additionally, when we consider the physics of image formation, hi...

Parallel phase modulation scheme for interferometric gravitational-wave detectors.

Advanced LIGO (aLIGO) requires multiple frequency sidebands to disentangle all of the main interferometer's length signals. This paper presents the results of a risk reduction experiment to produce two sets of frequency sidebands in parallel, avoiding mixed 'sidebands on sidebands'. Two phase modulation frequencies are applied to separate Electro-Optic Modulators (EOMs), with one EOM in each of...

Spherical Gravitational Wave Detectors

Resonant bar gravitational wave detectors have improved greatly over the last 40 years but are currently completely outperformed by laser interferometer detectors. Spherical detector configuration has several advantages over conventional bar detectors and can be considered as the next generation of resonant gravitational wave antenna. In this report, I will give a brief introduction to gravitat...
